clutch confusion

Post by SantanaAE86 »

Right now I have a 2tc in my sr but I have a ready 3tc to swap in it . The person who sell me the engine gave me a solid clutch to but i read some where that the spline of the 2tc t50 gearbox and the 3tc t50 arent the same , one has 20 teeth and the other 22
Now can some body help me here im swapping the 3tc this month or the other , what have I to do now ? Put the 2tc clutch on the 3tc or use the solid clutch ? The other day I was counting the teeth on the solid clutch it has 22:(

Well if its different all you will need is a 2tc disk and you are done. I am looking for a clutch right now myself and if I put toyota 1977 to 1992 they all come up 21 spline. So count again! You count the groves on the clutch and the teeth of the tranny. Remember the teeth goes in the groves. ;) The thing I know that changes is the driveshaft, I think from 2tc 19...... to 1980. Then 1981 is different.
Straight from wikipidea! Notes:
Comes in two varieties: 20 and 22-splines on the output shaft. So you should be good!
