Hi there,
Just for your information I had my last 3TC with stock main caps and factory 2nd hand re-used main bolts let go thanks to cylinder hydraulic lock with 380rwhp at about the 990ft mark on the quarter mile. The main caps and bolts had no issue at all even though the rod was compressed then violently torn off the crank.

The old school figures commonly passed around suggested 300 flywheel HP was all the stock bolts and caps could take but many people have been exceeding 300+ Wheel HP on the stock gear.

A performance engine is always a hand grenade and the safety pin is not the same on any two of em... :?

Cheers,
Jason

If you see pictures ARP will be Used on the flywheel, and yes pinned is better but just for all out racing, with ARP i have being doing good so far.

not expecting for missfires on a newly built engine plus is balanced, rods pistons ext ext!

i love to hear all talk about peoples experience with the t series motors, my daily driver made 419 whp for over 6 years with over 137 1/4 and 1/8 mile passes combined! The only thing changed was the spark plugs and oil and the normal valve adjustments etc. F/i injected with Accel Dfi fuel only and always ran a can of octane booster. Then was offered really good money for it and so i sold it to a board member and hes had it for the last two years with only leaky turbo bearings. This motor was a really simple motor that i build had arp bolts stock caps and wiseco hi compression pistons with eagle rods. If you put it together correctly and tune it conservatively they will survive for a long time!!!! Just my 2 cents

Mike is correct and it is that way with just about any engine.... if you are beating the crap out of it then you will prob have failures but if it is built well and it is tuned even better then it should perform as designed.
