Ac not working properly at highway speeds

I have an aftermarket ac unit on my 77 te38... it works fine at idle and regular city traffic, but when driving at 40 mph up it just blows cool ( not cold) air... any ideas? Thanks

Maybe wrong pulley combination diameter to big or small?

How is this?...
How do i know if it's too big or too small...?
The old compressor had a slightly smaller pulley...
???

Check the unit specs for the operating rpm
