Because you all love pictures.. here the story about mine with lots of pics!
Have no huge plans with her. Only enjoy to cruise with it and keep her in the same mint condition as her former owner did.
So no big or fast engines (sorry guys!) only a few original options IF i can find them.
I do have changed a few things. The grille, the double sport exhaust is changed to a genuine new one and the K40 gearbox is swapped to K50.
I hope to find some taillight parts so i can change the rear to early 1980-1981 look. And a center console with armrest. Things i may never find will be a leather TE71 GT steering wheel.. If you can help me to get these parts i will appreciate it very much! On the other way, if you are a coupe owner and looking for parts, drop me a message.
Enough talk, time for the pictures!!
In 2009 i picked her up with a trailer. It did not start and had no MOT or tax. Just a little dust on the outside and only 51.000km on the ODO.
After a powerwash i dropped her at a local Toyotadealer for repair, checkup and MOT.
It needed only a new battery and fresh fuel. Thats it! So took her home..
And gave her a polish. Amazing we found just one little scratch. No dents, no rust, nothing bad.
Seat covers kept the original seats really as new.
The 4K engine bay is covered with brown ML tectyl.. so no chance for rust
Bottom was also covered with anti-rust
Just.. as new
After the polish. It all shines!
First mod : I cruised to Boblook and replaced the grille with lights for a genuine new one. Much better!
Period correct cassette player. Yes, i play oldskool tapes when cruising!!
want this one instead.. Have one only the cassette dont work. Once i hope to find a working set!!
Bought a set of TE71 wheels. Rusty... very rusty.
They got a sandblasting, galvanise, powdercoating and clearcoat treatment.
New Goodyear tires. The old ones were still the original tires from 1981!!
Here she is now. Sleeping under polar fleece cover. Waiting till winter is over.
