Can i use a 2tc head on a 3tc block?

Yes. The head will bolt up and run no problem. The heads are pretty much identical. I have an early 2TC head on my 3TC, and it works like a charm. Some of the early 2TC heads (I forget the years exactly) have no EGR and slightly larger valves as well, so keep an eye out for them if you can.
