You have to grind few spots in the 2tc block to clear the 3tc crank counterweight and use 3tc rods i and piston i think not 75% sure on that

I any 2TC engines dont need modified the engine block for mount 3TC crankshaft. The 2TC and 3TC rods are the same.

Having built 3 X 2tc engines with 3t cranks, you will require the crank and the pistons as the rods are the same, block modifications will depend whether you have an early or late block, as the early blocks require clearancing on the bottom of the bore and if you are using standard rods, you will need to grind a few mm from the block where the rod nuts will hit.

Just to clarify something if you got a late 2TC block you dont need to grind for clearances but if you do have a 76 and earlier you do need to grind for clearance.

A couple of pictures showing the areas that require clearancing. You can tell if it is a late block, as there will be bulges on the outside on the exhaust side where my second pic shows the clearancing for the rod bolts.

Cheers,

Pete

Not bad, you have come close to the outline used in the 1983 Carboy issue on this upgrade for the 2T Block using the 3T crank, saved me some time explaining it except they stated 2 mm deep with a diameter of 16mm for the rod bolt heads and 38mm height by 17mm wide for the side wall on the inside of that block. Use that picture as your reference.
