Looking for 3TGTE gaskets
Hi,
I'm new here. Might be a long shot but I'm searching for a few gaskets for my 3TGTE and an original rubber engine mount.
I have a Facebook page, you may have seen my car or site before.

Re: Looking for 3TGTE gaskets
Hi,
I'm looking for a genuine exhaust manifold gasket, number is 17173-28080. I have an aftermarket one but they don't seem to be as good as the genuine item.
Also looking for a cam cover gasket and rubber mount. I didn't use stock 3T or 2T mounts as they are not as thick. Rather I modified my brackets and crossmember to get the stock 3TGTE mounts to work, I find these better to reduce movement and vibration particularly with a worked motor.
Haven't needed 3TGTE parts for years, surprising how hard it is now to find things.
Cheers,
Simon

Re: Looking for 3TGTE gaskets
Thanks Ryan,
Didn't know of that site. I've sent an inquiry to see if they have the parts I need.
Thanks for the link!

Re: Looking for 3TGTE gaskets
I hope it works out for you. I'll keep an eye on your rebuild as I may have to do the same. Also, I saw that you are working on a solution for a rack and pinion steering conversion. There is a guy in 1stgencelica.com, his name a Cary, he's made a conversion bracket, I've attached the picture here to give you an idea.ta22gt wrote:Thanks Ryan,

Re: Looking for 3TGTE gaskets
Thanks for the pics, looks interesting. My plan at this stage is to modify the TA22 cross member for rack and pinion.
I'll have my engine out this weekend, I can then take some measurements and figure out a plan. I have a feeling that there maybe some clearance issues with the steering column head and the T series sump.
I cant seem to log into the 1stGenCelica site, there doesnt seem to be a place to register. Do you know how I can register?

Also, once you take that engine out, could you share the measurement of the space across between where the steering is bolted to the chassis? I'd appreciate it.

Re: Looking for 3TGTE gaskets
Ryan,
I've sent an email to 1St GenCelica as it doesnt givem e an option to join, or at least I cant see one..
Anyway, sure I'll take measurements. Please remind me if I forget...
I will be posting all the detail of my rebuild and rack and pinion mods on my Facebook page.
http://www.facebook.com/pages/Classic-C ... ref=stream
I'm also going to rebuild my 3TGTE which will include many high performance parts, aiming for between 160 and 200rwkw....Currently the car puts out 145rwkw.
Cheers,
Simon
