Folks forget that the 2T series was the standard engine for 90% of the cars sold over seas and 18RG were not the normal engine. In the later Lift-backs 18R series were more common (Oversea) and a lot seen in 1976 1977 models. This is my personal opinion from Junkyard searches in Okinawa, Japan from 1977 - 1989 (weekly to daily the last two years)baldo wrote:You have a 2tc in that thing!!!??????Why didnt you go 18rg or something? Remember, if you are going to tune them you will need time, money and plenty of practice.
Also, if you plan on getting a cam forget about tuning them now. Because then you are probably going to need more jets... time, money and practice.
Try to have everything ready before putting them on, Make sure you have the headers with good piping to the muffler, msd, coil, wires, spark plugs.
There were a lot of performance options for the T-Series and the upgrades for the 2TG and 18RG meant deeper pockets back then. I few guys that were transfered to the P.I. that actual took their cars, and that were truly knowledgeable, would put different engines in their car before shipping it, but most shipped the T-series in there cars.
