Ok. I can't be the only guy considering this move. I have been watching countless Youtube videos and web posts about Plasti Dipping exterior paint jobs. Looks cool / sounds crazy. My paint is not in bad shape, but I like the idea of putting it in a "time capsule" until I can afford a proper, three foot paint job and I also like the idea of some sound-deadening. Dang this thing is noisy.
Does anyone have any experience with this on our beloved Toyotas? Is there a negative effect on performance due to the additional weight?

There's a TE51 for sale near me where he plasti-dipped it. I haven't yet seen it in person, but it looks decent in the pictures.

Great looking ride! Does it hold up well in the heat? It looks like you live in a tropical climate.
Re: Plasti Dip?
Got some closeup pics of the mirror and the handles?
Re: Plasti Dip?
Yep I'm in Puerto Rico....So far its holding up fine, I've only had it on there for a 5-6 weeks. I do rec. you take a look at the videos on http://www.dipyourcar.com to at least familiarize yourself before you spray.
