so a little back story..... I have been having some issues with my te72 and was hoping you guys have some ideas where to start looking first. After getting it washed it failed to turn over as if the starter wasn't getting any power, i get it towed home and the next morning start troubleshooting. I think I narrowed it down the the starter switch because i was able to start it from jumping it from the connector that the starter switch plugs into, but while i waited for the new switch to arrive i decided to retry the old switch and now it decides it wants to start. the problem now is that i have warning lights for the charge, sensor, and parking brake!? so i pulled the negative terminal to check if my alternator was working and the car stays running but the idle smooths out noticeably, it idled ok before but it wasn't perfect. why would it idle better without the negative terminal connected?
Problems:
-charge, sensor, and parking brake warning lights stay on
-idles damn near perfect with negative terminal disconnected
Here's what I've checked so far.
-all fuses are good none are blown
-main engine relay works and clicks with 12v source (but it gets hot, is that normal?)
-alternator is brand new
-the voltage regulator was replaced a year ago
3tc idles better without negative terminal attached. why?

Don't know about the idle but this first thing you need to check
Charge light replay fuse and main fuse and replay
Charge light replay fuse and main fuse and replay

If I was you I would check the fuses behind the kick panel driver side

Test that battery it could have a shorted cell which would indicate a charge problem, Just saying. (Sold a lot of battery one time in my life, and internal short are common)
