greetings from the freezer.

Post by larryw »

Hi,

I'm Larry, freezing in New Hampshire. Here's my '78 Triumph Spitfire with a 3TC and transmission.

It was a daily driver running machine when I first saw it, later my friend got excited and tore into it with grand plans. I acquired the pieces about a year later.

The Spitfire part is very sound, needs replacement of all the wear parts (like suspension bushings and seals, ball joints and brakes), but no major rust repair or bodywork is required. Being from the automobile rust belt, I'm astonished how solid this 35 year old car is.

Whoever installed the engine and transmission in the Spitfire did a very nice job, I'm very interested in the forums comments on compatibility of the engine components I received with the car, I'll post some photos of what I have to work with in the Engine and Drivetrain section.
