			I have a 6a hooked up to my 3tc and I get no spark. It ran fine before doing msd upgrade msd box gets power (cuz power light turns on) I have the purple n green wires ran right to dist. not using white wire n gray is to the tach. You need to hook only the 
black and orange  on the coil 
The msd will take care of the coil power itself

When you said no power to the coil do you mean no 12V ??
Did you crank the engine to check for spark usually those msd don't burn so easy ?
Can you post the installation picture the way you wired ??

			Heavy red  = Plus +Heavy black  = groundRed  = 12v ignition switchedOrange  = plus + coil positiveBack  = negative coilgreen  and purple  is for the magnetic pickup distributer !negative  of the distributer magnetic pickup
