TE75 ('81 liftback) blinker problems....

.......so it seems the previous owner tried to splice the wiring up front to make the running lights also act as blinkers (this is just for the front, not the rear).
so does anyone have any experience on doing this the correct way and have some sort of rough diagram for it?
or does anyone have a diagram to wire it back to stock and use the original blinkers? (the ones mounted on the bumper)
