ignition coil pack wiring info needed for rpm tac

hello again, im hooking up my tac and i need to know which wire is (+ and -) so i dont fry my tac, 80 3tc 5sp with square style coil, is the (-neg) towards the front or back of the car. the coil is properly mounted in the stock location (fyi) thanks

Safest would be to go to the manufacturer of you tachs website and look at the instruction sheet there. Will tell you what wire to clip and what wires go to pos and neg.

The igniter itself has its tach output signal connector

negative side of the coil works all the time

Not when u use the igniter it can interrupter the work of the ignition

Not when you use msd box therefore you need to use the tach output

There are 2 types of tacs - Voltage & Current.
I spent weeks trying to figure out how to wire a '62 Alpine (current) tac to a 3tc engine & igniter. The Alpine info says key sw. B+ thru a loop outside the tac to the coil +.
Surely that wouldn't work according to all the Toyota info. But it does work perfectly!
