Blocking the dizzy

Hi gentlemens,
How do i block the dizzy?
Do i only put a U ose connecting the two niples?

Hey buddy, you will not need to block those two nipples on the distributor vacuum advance diaphragm canister for any engine running considerations - except to keep hornets from building nests and blocking them internally in case of future use!

What you do need to do is ensure the locations on the manifold and or carb (assuming carb is still on rather than an efi conversion...) where the vacuum signals used to come from are blocked or you will have a poor running vehicle thanks to the vacuum leaks.

Yess i have changed the vaccum´s location if this is your question,
Here is the new look with the carb and bonet,
Still not shure how to block the dizzy like you guys suggested me?

I see your using the multi retard MSD setup how does it activate ?

Something need to be activate to tell the msdbox at certain boost level when retard need to be started

Hmmm... I was most likely on a wrong wavelength originally...
So you be in fact referring to blocking (i.e. LOCKING) the distributor so there is no more mechanical or vacuum advance?
Taking the cap off and then identifying a method of preventing movement of the plate on which the magnetic pickup sensor or points rotate is required. I used a bent piece of steel screwed down by one of the bearing retainers on which the above plate pivots to lock it all in place.

I cannot read the MSD items apart from the 6AL. What exact modules do you have?
If one is the standalone BTM box then that is somewhat simple.
If it is a three step retard then you will need something like an rpm activated switch (crude but can work), or my preferred option would be three(?) Hobbs pressure switches to activate the retard stages at different boost levels.

Hope that is all slightly clearer than mud... :oops:

hahaha, no worries men! my mistake,
i realy ment locking the dizzy. Sometime my english is not appropriate i speak french usualy. i feel so blessed to speak english an be able to communicate with you guys!

so looks like an other step i need to achieve before i get my car done.
I have seen a picture of a car in this forum i will try to get it back. It was a msd box neer the steering and it was written "retard control" or something like this on it.\
Is that what i should get.....
