I have an extra head I plan on shaving and replacing with the original to rebuild.
So as far as shaving I was to go as much as I can
I will be using premium
3t head on 3t block, stock internals, year is 82
What's the max shave before clearance issues?
Max shave and what's the compression?

Yeah I searched and found that thread, I see they are all saying to start with .50 , but there's no specific number, or what compression that would leave me at.
Has anyone done it before and can give me a garunteed safe number?
Id like to be able to just swap the heads over the weekend and be done with it,

Max shave for maximum compression using premium gas(92 I think)?

Never test it but if stock is 8.5 with 0.50 cut i would assume your can bump it to 8.8 unsure never test this before and it depend on the gasket thickness. Back then Ghetto build we use to make our own steel gasket very tinny but started to leak after few runs.

I don't have a definitive answer, but keep in mind that if you're in the US (or have a motor that is) you'll be starting with a 9.0:1 compression ratio. Bob being in Europe got a slightly lower 8.5:1 stock ratio than we did state side.

So a .050 shave would bring 8.5 to 8.8
would it bring 9.0 to 9.3?
Either way that's pretty low gain considering how much is being shaved..
Any.100 shaved heads that worked lol?
