3T & 13T - Differences

Post by ke25_rolla »

Hi guys,

Need a little help as I have both of these engines, but was wondering which is the best to build?

I assume bore and stroke are the same, and the main difference being in the pistons and cylinder heads. As I have not disassmbled either, I would prefer to use the 13T as the 3T is a good running engine that I can sell.

Will aftermarket forged 3T pistons suit the 13T block and head, or will the valves from the 13T contact the piston? From what I understand, the cylinder head design on the 13T is slightly unusual due to the emissions controls?

Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers,
Cam
