Project: Gina

Post by gotae86 »

Hey guys,

Here is my build that I'm almost complete. I tore her down about 5 years ago. I tried to install a 13b with no luck. Then I was started a build with a 4age in mind but a friend had a 3TC which was assembled and ready to roll so I'll be running with this engine setup for the time being. With all the research I've been doing, I may keep the 3TC. ;)

Here is what the car looked like 3 years ago.

With the 13b in the engine bay. Notice how close the carb sits to the shock tower.

Back to Toyota...should have always been Toyota.

Wankel comes out.

Engine bay/valve cover cleaned up and wiring started. Fueling is being sorted out as well.

MSD routed to the interior.

Relocating the battery to the rear passenger side.

My favorite part of builds is suspension.

Lastly, here is a time lapse video of the work I've done. Taken with my GoPro over a 2 month time period.

I appreciate all the help I got from this forum, especially with the wiring. I hate wiring which is one of the reasons I love carbs for the sake of simplicity.

The first car I've ever seen pink was some station wagon when I was 18. Talked to the nice old guy driving the beast and he swapped a V8 in it and man did it ROAR! Since then I've always wanted a pink car. Plus, when I compete in drifting, the guys hate it when they get beat by the pink Corolla and it's an instant crowd favorite.

Here are some more pictures for the front mount.

I kept running into problems with the 13b. I dropped it in and the transmission was sitting on top of the crossmember. I moved it back to clear the crossmember and then the transmission hit the tunnel so I cut it open. So now I have a big hole in my firewall that needs to be weld. Shouldn't be hard though.

Excuse the language but after 5 years she started with the first shot. Engine feels strong. :D

I'm shooting flames out of the exhaust. Is this bad? If so, how do I remedy this?
