Re: Help with a build
Are you worried about things being CARB (California Air Regulation Board) approved for the under hood inspection, or just emissions testing? I know that if you're looking for true blue CARB certified replacements, your options are going to be quite limited for the carburetor at least. Or maybe you h...

Re: anyone running A/C ? on 3tc
I guess this will also come off as dumb advice, but anything is do-able with fabrication. To reiterate my point though, if you are concerned about modernizing your a/c, I can vouch for the fact that the 3TC stock compressor (and rest of the system) will handle R134a pressures, considering R12 is nex...

Re: 3T vs 13T
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/gg180/spudenater/03081423581_zpsfd035bcd.jpg ^That is what 13T pistons look like, as opposed to the symnetrical, domed/plateau'd pistons of the various 2T/3T motors. I was sold a shaved 13t head and these pistons as "high compression" 3TC gear before I r...

Re: anyone running A/C ? on 3tc
Yeah, I'm just using the stock compressor that came with my '80 wagon. Converted it to R134a a while back as well.

Re: Lowering a 80 wagon
OP hasn't been around in a while it seems. I lowered my '80 wagon though, did all the work myself. If you need help or have specific questions, OP, PM me.

Re: Real Weber vs. Knock off Weber
While I don't have any direct experience with weber replicas, what I've heard (grain of salt of course) is that the knock offs typically have looser tolerances and cheaper casting material. They are more likely to strip/shear/leak etc. That's not to say that they all will all the time. Just that qua...

Re: 2tc head on a 3tc?
Yes. The head will bolt up and run no problem. The heads are pretty much identical. I have an early 2TC head on my 3TC, and it works like a charm. Some of the early 2TC heads (I forget the years exactly) have no EGR and slightly larger valves as well, so keep an eye out for them if you can.

Re: Mk1-2 Supra Front Shocks on Corolla?
I've heard RA40/60 lower control arms will bolt up, so assuming that MA40/60 LCA's are the same, that's half the battle right there. Then the question becomes whether or not the strut towers and top-hats will work.

Re: What parts does evryone need?
Quad-light setups from 1980 TE72's always find a buyer. Decent T50 tansmissions as well, and pre-EGR 2TC heads (early 70's). AE71 motor crossmembers are also sellable for people who want to swap in a twin cam. AE71 Rack and Pinion steering bits are hella desireable too, but good luck finding one of ...

Re: Cold start weber option
Yeah I got a 3TC in a wagon, worst I got to worry about is like 35*. Typically it's in a garage though, which helps immensely. If I were in your position I would definitely get one of those cold-start mechanisms, negative degrees are no joke. Do you have a block heater?
