Looking for 1st generation T50 shifter assembly.

I believe the shifter position changed early 80's. I replaced my '72 T40 with a '78 T50 and they were
externally identical. What year is your T50?

I'm looking to swap a 5 speed into my te27. It is a stock 2tc and I wanted to know if a t50 from a late '70s Corolla will work. I've read that the shifter is moved back a few inches compared to the early 20 spline t50. Is the shifter going too be close to the parking brake lever?

yes the pre 80 t50, with the shifter closer to the front of the tail shaft. my car is a 78, but i think they all work up to 79. 20 spline.
