Go look in the Speedway catalog and order some rod ends and swedge tubes, save yourself 300.

Looking for suggestions on a mostly race carb for a 3tc.

Holley 350 or 500

or Weber 38, 40 DCOE

??

Seems like the pony stock guys make decent power with the 350, but I'm sure that's the spec carb.

Maybe on a really happy dyno or with a built engine. More in the 240-260 range with limited mods.

How much can the stock 3tc pistons handle?

It's common to have ringland failures with the stock 3sgte pistons. My 91 mr2 with a perfectly dyno tuned engine cracked one at 16psi. Did some research, and lots of others have had the same problem.
