Re: Valve lifters hitting cylinder head

Failed valve spring? That could have allowed the lifter to come too far up. No doing pressure to push back on the rocker, pushrod and then lifter. That’s my initial thought anyway
I’m assuming you measured and those two lifters are not magically way longer than the others?

95-99 Eclipse front Strut Bar onto 1980 TE72 Corolla

I recently read about how the 95-99 Mitsubeishi Eclipse Strut tower bar would fit TExx Corollas which have the 100mm triangular shaped top hats. It works on my 1980 TE72, but will not work on the 81-83's as they have a different stud spacing. I've read but not confirmed you can use this bar on those...

Re: Sc14 on a stock 3tc

I'd suggest looking at one of the many Turbo-charged offerings from Schneider Cams http://schneidercams.com/2TC3TCturbocharged.aspx Match up the rpm range with what you'd like to have your engine run at and go to town.

Re: Saturn Upgrade Alternator Full Write up

Here is another video on the topic made by Angel Robles, it is 30-some minutes long and VERY detailed and kicks the pants off what I did last week. 8-) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iEtnCSYrP1Y

Re: Saturn Upgrade Alternator Full Write up

There have been a few people asking about this swap on the Facebook page recently. I made these YouTube videos to help them: Part one, I show how to swap the pulley over and what spacers to use where: https://youtu.be/f4EeLn7EA9s Part two, where I talk about how to wire it up. Using a old alternator...

Re: Weber jetting, what I've used that works

Hi Rey, I am at sea level in Seattle. But have regularly gone from that to around 3000ft with some of these setups with no troubles. The mountains are just an hour away from me. And we can even go from 0 to almost 1000ft by driving across town. So given that, anyone at a higher elevation probably ha...

Re: 3TC motor in a 1973 vw camper.

Hi there! That sounds like a cool conversion. Post some pics if you have the ability please! As far as temp goes, OE thermostat temp is 195*F so it should run around that tempreture. As far as freeway RPM goes that depends on your final transmission gear ratio, tire size and axle ratio. With the sto...

Re: Doug thorley 3tc headers group buy

Is this group buy still active. Would like to buy 2 headers. If you look this group buy never got off the ground. We first started trying to get people interested in 2013! I still want a Thorley header for my liftback here 7 years later, haha! My ceramic coated Pacesetter is pretty nice though. Che...

Re: Weber jetting, what I've used that works

I've got one more tune list for the Mikuni 40phh's. This tune using 36mm chokes. These chokes added high RPM power and overall feel of "happiness", which I know is a little vague. I can simply say the engine felt more stable at 6000RPM than it did before. And also seemed like if I wanted t...

Re: Weber jetting, what I've used that works

Hi all, Well I reserve the right to change my mind later. But yesterday after spinning my wheels for a bit and almost getting enraged at a car that would sometimes refuse to idle less than 1800rpm and have semi constant popping and slight backfire. I figured out that I had somehow set my float level...
